Day Nine: Character You've Made More Than Once

I suppose it depends on how this question is meant. I have had characters that I have played more than once. Two in Shadow Falls, for instance - Angel Vega and Bristol McQueen. I played them before and I decided to ressurect them. And in fandom, well, there are definitely characters I've played repeatedly.

And since I've played so many characters over the years, I definitely have/have had characters with similarities to one another.

Day Eight: Favourite Gender to Play

Male. Ninety-five percent of my characters are male. This wasn't always the case. When I first started RPing, I played exclusively females, until someone said "Hey, why not try a dude?" and I did. And I enjoyed it. And then for a long time I kept a fairly even balance between males and females, but eventually it started slipping in the other direction. Probably partially due to my love of slash, yes, but also because I just have more ideas for male characters, in terms of original character games, and in fandoms, I tend to find the male characters more interesting, for the most part (at least, the fandoms I RP or have RPed in, like Harry Potter and X-men).

RP Meme: 30 Days (Day Seven) [17 Sep 2010|11:20am]
Day Seven: Favourite Character You've Ever Played.

This is an exceedingly difficult question to answer. I've played hundreds of characters. Literally. My first character picture file has like 800 pictures in it - and mostly it was just one picture per character. So. Picking a favourite? Not an easy task.

So I shall list some at random! And will surely forget some!

1. Addy Kistner. Sweet as pie, my boy who likes to dress like a girl. He was my first Shadow Falls character - in fact, he was already in progress before I decided to make the game. I knew I wanted this character, I just didn't know where I would play him. I love his cuteness with Griffin and his friendship with Emily and Ryan and others! (PB: Izzy Hilton)

2. Tory Gnosis. Mentioned in a previous post. My fiesty, spoiled little Italian firestarter spider-monkey. (PB: Isaiah Garnica).

3. Zacharias Smith. My favourite Harry Potter fandom character to play. A rich, elitist Pureblood Hufflepuff - the Hufflepuff with the Slytherin attitude. Breaking Hufflepuff stereotypes since 1991! Quidditch obsessee. (PB: Charlie Hunnam).

4. Jamie Madrox. My favourite X-men character to play. The Multiple Man! Who can be.. pretty much anything. Or anyone. Given the dupes he has, all facets of his personality. (PB: I used to use Eric Danes but I would probably switch).

5. Clarissa 'Rissa' Kaylar. No, I didn't name a character after myself. Rissa was my first original character, like.. 10+ years ago. People in the game didn't know what my name was so they just referred to me as Rissa (that was the thing, calling people by their main character's name). It stuck. Anyway. Rissa was a witch with pink hair, who ran a clothing boutique (well, she was a waitress when I first started playing her) and yes, she was probably a tiny bit Mary Sue back then but she was my first so sue me. She'll always hold a special place in my heat! (PB: Various over time, would probably use Audrey Kitching now).

6. Gunner Crawley. Gunner was a very strange young man. He had the ability to necroitize organic material (including flesh). He was obsessed with dead things. He was also obsessed with the doctor in the organization they worked at. Followed him around, asked questions, eventually became his assistant (through much badgering) and even more eventually became his lover. (PB: BellZ).

7. Kale Callahan. Kale Callahan was a witch who worked for their.. law enforcement agency. Sort of. He always carried dozens of weapons on him and his suggestion for every problem was to blow something up. Or shoot something. Trigger happy didn't even begin to describe Kale. (PB: Garrett Hedlund)

Annnd there are others but I don't want to type more. :D

Day Six: Biggest Pet Peeve

Obviously a lot of the normal things stand here. Super Mary Sue characters, godmodding/power playing, line crossing, etc. But those things bother everyone, yes? So I don't think they really need saying.

One thing I really dislike is when a person uses their characters to make their other characters look better. Like, having a character swoop to the defense of another of their characters (especially when it doesn't make sense for the characters to do so), or to have one character talk up another of their characters unnecessarily (it's one thing if someone asks, but if they're just talking about them randomly for no reason, that's annoying). Yes, when you play multiple characters in a game, two might have to interact, but there's a difference between regular interaction and using multiple characters to try and make one seem cooler/sexier/more appealing/smarter/better/etc.

Day Five: Your Favourite Crackship

Okay I lied. I'm going to do one more to help myself catch up. This is an easy one. And short.

I don't really have any favourite crackships. In OC, there really aren't any, I don't think, because the characters are yours to begin with. And in fandom, I tend to like the minor characters the best. I usually like the pairings that are set out in game (with the exception of Remus and Tonks, which I hate - Tonks is so clearly his beard!), and would rather play the side characters. And thus I think, as long as things are played out and explained, random pairings can work. Like, one of my favourite Harry Potter pairings? Xenophilius Lovegood and Severus Snape. Which sounds really weird, but it really works (so much so that I have randomly had it happen in two games where I played Xenophilius, with no planning either time). It might look strange to begin with, but then you see the characters play together and it makes sense and doesn't seem cracky.

I suppose I could say the Weasley Twins since most people consider that sort of thing crack. In which case I'd say that. George/Fred. But to me, they sort of make sense too. They were inseperable, even beyond regular twins.

RP Meme: 30 Days (Day Four) [15 Sep 2010|04:12pm]
Day Four: Your Favourite Ship

I know, I've missed days but I'm only doing one today. Family stuff has been crazy. I went horseback riding though! Anyway, on to the question.

First of all, this is a really hard question to answer, because I've RPed for so long and I've loved most of my pairings. So I'm going to pick three - none current, because they're still in progress. Two fandom, one OC.

1. Remus Lupin/Sirius Black. They are my OTP to end all OTPs and I am convinced they were canonly together and JKR just glossed over it. I love love love playing them. I play Remus and I adore playing off a great Sirius. Their friendship is awesome and they can be so much more. I love playing them starting in school where they're just discovering their feelings for each other. And then going through the war. AUish things are awesome - like what happens if Sirius didn't go to Azkaban and stuff. I played an awesome line of them once where the Potters still died, Peter was caught out and Sirius and Remus ended up raising Harry. Adorable? Yes.

2. Zacharias Smith/Atticus Derrick. Zacharias Smith is my favourite HP character to play. I've played him for so long, so many times, that I tend to forget that he's really a teeny minor character, because I have so much backstory for him in my head. Atticus ('Derrick', one of the Slytherin beaters) was this awesome ex-Death Eater in the first game we played them in (we played them together in a few games, plus PSL). They met, they had a one night stand, they clashed, there were sparks. Atticus was locked up for torture, and Zacharias would visit him and they'd fight. Then Zacharias was locked up (in this game he was a werewolf and accidently bit his friend) and Atticus would come - and they would fight. And they were so perfect for each other. Eventually (in the third game we played them in.. or was it the fourth) they got married (drunken night) and it kept. And in the PSL we did, they ended up with twin boys. And they were just.. perfect.

3. Tory Gnosis/Vaughan (Rhodes): Original character, you might have guessed. Vittorio 'Tory' Gnosis was mine - a pyrokinetic (who leaned more towards warming/heating things than causing fire). An Italian who had moved with his family to America a couple years before. He was tiny, stubborn, spoiled and very emotional. He loved playing with hair and was prone to melting/shattering things when he got mad. Vaughan (who later figured out his last name was Rhodes) was a street kid astral projector. Who came to the school Tory was at with some street kid friends because they were stuck in a telepathic web and couldn't get out of it. Tory and Vaughan met when Vaughan tried to bum money off him and Tory tried to play with his hair. And they fought. And fought. And fought. And fought. But somewhere along the line the fighting turned to a tentative friendship. Which turned to an actual friendship. Which lead to Troy crawling all over Vaughan, all the time, because that's what he did with his friends. And then when they finally got together, it was just so freaking amazing. And they were still so cute after that. Vaughan being all snarky and snarly and doing things to rile Tory up (which he did so well) and Tory being his spider-monkey self. Oh those boys.

Day Three: Your Favourite Female PB

This is a much easier question than favourite male PB. Despite the fact that I don't often play female characters these days (not so in the earlier days of my RPing) there are a lot of female PBs that I like.

But one stands out and I bet we can all guess.

Audrey Kitching, yes indeed. I love the pink hair and all the awesome, out there outfits.

RP Meme: 30 Days (Day Two) [10 Sep 2010|08:50am]
Day Two: Your Favourite Male PBs

I added the 's' there because there is no way I can pick just one. In fact, I have eight that I adore and have used more than once. And so I shall list them all! In no particular order.

1. Isaiah Garnica. I do have a thing for small (looking, because Isaiah's actually fairly tall) dark haired, slightly androgynous males. It's true. And Isaiah might just be my favourite. Maybe my all time favourite PB. I love everything about him - how slim and tiny he looks, his hair, his lips. And he reminds me of Tory, one of my all time favourite characters (you'll hear more about him in coming days, don't you worry!).

2. Alex Evans. Another small, dark haired boy. I adore his big, insanely blue eyes. And how his hair is like this perfect cap. And his snake bite piercings. He's just so adorable. I've used him several times, and of course he's the PB for Addy's beloved Griffin!

3. Boyd Holbrook. Boyd is a beautiful man. His features, his eyes, his white-blonde hair. He makes a perfect Malfoy, it's true, although I've never used him for one (I have used him in the RP world though, he also makes a perfect part-veela).

4. Nicholas Hoult. I still partially think of him as that adorable little boy in About a Boy. Which I need to watch again soon. The first time I used Nicholas as a PB I was just looking for someone random who looked like a typical boy next store. I started using him and I fell in love, and have used him multiple times since. He just looks so fun and a bit saucy. Also, funnily, I have used him as both the son of Peter Pan, in one game, and Peter Pan himself in another. He definitely has that 'Pan' look to me.

5. Johan Erik Goransson. He is a new PB love but I just fell in total love with him. I like how he's slightly awkward. Fluffy blonde hair, big eyes, big lips, always looking slightly puzzled. He's the most adorable thing! I want to use him a million times!

6. Cillian Murphy. Who is my future husband (shhhh don't tell his wife). I adore him to pieces (of course my adoration goes beyond his looks, because he's an amazing actor, but we're talking PBs here). Those eyes1 Those cheekbones! Gah!

7. Jackson Rathbone. First of all, he has the biggest, best grin ever. And crazy hair and random outfits. He's just so quirky and so much fun! I love using him for quirky, odd, outspoke, friendly characters.

8. Izzy Hilton. My Addy. I don't know if I could ever use him again because he is SO Addy in my mind but I love him. For being so unique and like no other. For being my Addy, who I adore.

Other male PB loves include: Jamie Campbell Bower, Cameron Ugh, Jordan Holland, Andy Sixx, Ryan Ross, Justin Bieber, Chris Colfer, Chris Ingle, Clive Owen, Milo Ventimiglia, many more!

I feel like I've lost my RP spirit. I need to get it back. Maybe it fell between the couch cushions.

I have a character bopping around my head. He's a boy, but everyone thinks he's a girl because he dresses like a girl, looks like a girl, has a unisex name (or goes by a feminine nickname) and doesn't correct people when they refer to him as 'her/she'. And then she meets a boy and they fall for each other and then he realizes "Oh, hmm, you're a boy" and all the fall out that goes with.

I also want to RP a vampire. A nice slashy vampire.
